Comedias Cortas contains 33 pithy, droll, lively and engaging short plays for students learning Spanish at late-beginner to mid-intermediate levels. Written in Spanish, with the stage directions in English, each sketch takes approximately 8 - 12 minutes to perform, and has roles for 3 - 8 actors. With humor geared to the sensibilities of adolescent to adult readers, the skits in Comedias Cortas are one level higher in complexity than its popular predecessor, Skinny Skits.
Comedias Cortas contains 11 "Acts" (units) of 3 skits each. Skit A is the shortest and simplest. Skit B is often a bit longer and slightly more complex. Skit C is usually still somewhat longer, and tends to unite content objectives, vocabulary and structures within a more complex dialogue and/or plot. Each skit deals with totally new characters and a new situation. Most skits when performed are between three and six minutes long
